Maison d'Orsay, Chardonnay, Blanc, 2024

Presentation

“Maison d'Orsay” is a French brand that illustrates the elegance and richness of the grape varieties of Pays d'Oc, a region renowned for the diversity of its sun-drenched terroirs. Each Maison d'Orsay wine is an authentic expression of its grape variety, taking advantage of the variety of soils and climatic conditions in the south of France. This range offers tasty wines for lovers of fine oenological discoveries.

Terroir

Influenced by the Mediterranean climate, this wine reveals all its potential with a fresh, balanced, and very fine style. It is produced from grapes cultivated in different terroirs of the Pays d'Oc:
- from the Cévennes, where the clay-limestone soil brings freshness and acidity to the wine,
- from the plain of the Hérault, where the rich and stony limestone soils bring richness and roundness to the wine,
- from the Aude Valley, where the clay-limestone soils of Minervois give fruity wines,
- from the Limoux region.

Winemaking

The alcoholic fermentation takes place slowly, under strict temperature control to preserve all the freshness of the aromas. Part of the blend is aged in oak barrels on fine lees for 9 months, with regular stirring to reintegrate the lees, thereby enriching the wine. At the same time, another part of the blend undergoes a partial malolactic fermentation, bringing buttery notes and adding additional complexity to the whole. This meticulous process gives the wine remarkable depth and aromatic richness.
