Domaine Jean-Francois Gonon

Domaine Jean-Francois Gonon

Located in Vergisson, at the foot of the iconic rocks of Solutré and Vergisson, the Domaine Jean-François Gonon is rooted in a winemaking tradition passed down through five generations. Taken over by Jean-François Gonon in 1991, the estate now spans around 14 to 15 hectares and benefits from a strong foothold in one of the most emblematic landscapes of the southern Mâconnais. This setting allows for a consistent and expressive interpretation of the region’s limestone terroirs.

The estate notably produces wines from Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Mâcon, crafted in a style that emphasizes clarity, balance and purity of fruit. Faithful to the traditional character of the region while incorporating modern winemaking techniques, the domaine focuses on producing whites that are both precise and approachable. The wines stand out for their freshness, aromatic brightness, notes of white flowers and fresh fruit, as well as a mineral backbone that brings tension and harmony on the palate.

Domaine Jean-François Gonon appeals through its ability to combine deep family roots, stylistic consistency and a sincere expression of the Mâconnais terroir. Blending heritage, precision and respect for the environment, it produces wines that are polished, balanced and firmly rooted in their origin, offering a refined interpretation of southern Burgundy whites.
