Founded in 1937 in Condrieu by Francis Vernay, Domaine Georges Vernay is an iconic estate of the Northern Rhône Valley. A pioneer in planting Viognier on the Coteau de Vernon, Francis created the legendary “Coteau de Vernon” cuvée. His son, Georges Vernay, took over the estate in 1953 and played a decisive role in preserving both the Condrieu appellation and the Viognier grape, earning him the nickname “Pope of Condrieu.”

Since 1996, the third generation, represented by Christine Vernay, has continued this remarkable legacy with a demanding and contemporary vision. Today, the estate spans 24 hectares, primarily across Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie and Saint-Joseph.

Certified organic and inspired by biodynamic principles, the estate pays meticulous attention to its soils and the individual expression of each terroir. Its wines are distinguished by their purity, finesse and depth, establishing Domaine Georges Vernay as one of the leading names of the Northern Rhône Valley.
