Domaine des Hospices de Nuits
Founded in 1270, the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges own a vineyard estate of around 12.4 hectares, entirely located within the Nuits-Saint-Georges and Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru appellations. The vineyards are mainly planted with Pinot Noir, with a few rare parcels of Chardonnay producing small quantities of white wine.
Annual production is around 25,000 bottles, traditionally sold during the charity wine auction held each year at the beginning of March, an important event for wine professionals and collectors.
Among the most emblematic wines is Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Didiers, a monopole of the Hospices, renowned for its structure, depth and remarkable ageing potential.
