Domaine Michel Magnien

Domaine Michel Magnien

In Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine Michel Magnien is one of those family estates that placed the vineyard at the center of its philosophy early on. Founded in 1897, the domaine is now led by Frédéric Magnien, representing the fourth generation of the family.

The vineyard covers around 18 hectares, spread across a remarkable mosaic of terroirs in the Côte de Nuits, including Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanée, with several emblematic Grand Cru sites such as Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes-Mares.

One of the domaine’s defining features is its pioneering commitment to biodynamic farming, adopted as early as 2004, long before the approach became widely embraced in Burgundy. The goal is to enhance soil vitality and allow each climat to fully express its character.

In the cellar, winemaking remains thoughtful and restrained, with minimal intervention to guide the wines without overshadowing the expression of the terroir.
In the glass, the wines reveal energy, finesse and remarkable precision, offering a vibrant and luminous interpretation of the great terroirs of the Côte de Nuits.
