Domaine des Hospices de Beaune
The oldest and largest charity wine auction in the world! In 1443, Nicolas Rolin, chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy, founded a hospital for the sick, elderly, and destitute, a magnificent example of Gothic architecture. Over the centuries, Burgundian families have donated vineyards to the Hospices de Beaune, which now cover 60 hectares, 85% of which are 1er and Grand Crus located in Beaune, Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, and other renowned appellations. Managed by Ludivine Griveau and 23 winemakers, the wines are vinified in a state-of-the-art winery. Every third Sunday in November, young wines in barrels are auctioned by Christie’s. Each year, we purchase one or more barrels during this auction. In partnership with Édouard Delaunay, we age and bottle these wines. We also offer, by reservation, the opportunity to purchase and age your own cuvées with
