Domaine Des Combat

Domaine Des Combat

Domaine des Combat is located in Mercurol, at the heart of Crozes-Hermitage, in the Northern Rhône Valley where Syrah expresses all of its finesse and character. Although the Combat family has cultivated vines for generations, the estate entered a new chapter in 2017 when Nicolas Combat, after gaining experience in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and several French wine regions, created the family’s own winery alongside his parents Pierre and Isabelle. More recently, Sandra Combat joined the estate, becoming the first woman to lead the domaine in over a century.

The vineyard covers around 22 hectares across a mosaic of terroirs combining rolled pebbles, clay soils, alluvial terraces and sandier hillside parcels. This diversity of soils and microclimates allows the estate to craft precise and nuanced wines, where Syrah reveals depth, freshness and elegance.

The domaine follows a respectful approach to viticulture, without chemical herbicides, with manual harvesting and careful parcel management. In the cellar, vinification and ageing are carried out with precision in order to preserve both fruit purity and terroir identity. The wines reveal notes of black fruits, violet, pepper and spice in a style that is both elegant and contemporary.
