Clotilde Davenne

Based in Préhy, at the heart of the Chablis vineyards, Clotilde Davenne is a key figure in the world of pure, mineral-driven white wines. After 17 years as a winemaker at Domaine Brocard, she founded her own estate in 2005. Today, she farms 30 hectares across Chablis, Irancy and Saint-Bris on classic Kimmeridgian soils. Raised in a farming family from the Morvan, Clotilde blends technical precision with a deep respect for nature, focusing on freshness and clarity of fruit.

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel to preserve purity. Her Chablis stands out for its vibrant tension and saline finish, while her Irancy and Bourgogne Aligoté show the same finesse. Her distinctive vision of terroir emerged as early as 1992, when she chose to plant her first Chardonnays on a plot once deemed ungrateful by the elders and nicknamed “Les Temps Perdus.” What was then seen as land with no future has since become one of the finest expressions of her style and her ability to reveal the true potential of a site.
