Domaine Mas Farchat
Domaine Mas Farchat
Nestled in the Thongue Valley, between Mediterranean influences and the hills of the Hauts Cantons of Hérault, Mas Farchat is a family estate deeply connected to its natural surroundings. The domaine is now managed by Hélène Jougla, heir to a long line of passionate winegrowers, who continues an artisanal and terroir-driven vision of winemaking with both precision and sensitivity. The estate takes its name from Rouky de Farchat, the family’s first horse, symbolising the historic bond between the property, the land and nature.
The vineyard is planted on hillside slopes with ideal sun exposure, allowing slow and even grape ripening while preserving freshness and balance. Surrounded by garrigue, pine trees and preserved biodiversity, the parcels are farmed according to a sustainable approach that respects the vineyard’s natural balance. No chemical herbicides are used, and the soils are naturally enriched with manure from horses fed exclusively on Crau hay.
What makes the estate unique? A meticulous attention to vineyard balance and a deep connection with the surrounding nature, resulting in wines that are elegant, complex and luminous. Manual harvesting, precise vinification and a strong focus on fruit purity allow the domaine to reveal the full finesse of its terroir, through wines marked by notes of ripe fruit, sweet spices and garrigue.
