Domaine Du Clos Des Rocs
Domaine Du Clos Des Rocs
Located in Loché, in the heart of the southern Mâconnais, the Domaine du Clos des Rocs takes its name from a walled vineyard surrounded by dry-stone walls, just a few steps from the village church. Taken over by Olivier Giroux in 2002, the estate now covers 13 hectares, mainly in Pouilly-Loché and Mâcon-Loché, with a few plots in Pouilly-Fuissé and Mâcon-Fuissé. This setting, within one of the most confidential areas of the Mâconnais, gives the domaine a particularly strong identity.
Clos des Rocs stands out for its ability to express the limestone character of Loché with precision, through Chardonnays that are both refined, generous and deeply rooted in their terroir. Farmed under organic practices, the estate follows a demanding approach, with careful attention paid to each parcel. The wines are defined by their freshness, aromatic brightness and mineral tension, in a style that is both structured, expressive and approachable.
The domaine is now considered one of the benchmark producers of Pouilly-Loché, a rare appellation it actively helps to promote. Combining a strong sense of place, precise winemaking and a commitment to respectful viticulture, it produces wines of character that are elegant and deeply marked by their origin.
