Founded in 1953 by Jean-Louis Ferran, Domaine Des Escaravailles is now managed by his grandson Gilles Ferran, who passionately continues the family legacy. Located in Rasteau, in the southern Rhône Valley, the estate extends over more than 40 hectares of vines planted on steep slopes facing south, offering ideal conditions for grape maturation.The clay-limestone soils, combined with a hot and dry climate, allow for rich and structured wines. The estate primarily works with Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, cultivated in sustainable viticulture to preserve the natural balance of the soil and the vine. The harvest is done manually, with rigorous sorting of the grapes to select only the highest quality. In the cellar, vinifications are precise and adapted to each plot. Extractions are controlled to reveal the concentration and elegance of the wines, while aging in oak barrels and concrete tanks preserves the freshness of the fruit and refines the tannic structure. The reds from the estate stand out for their intense aromas of black fruits, licorice, and spices, with beautiful minerality and remarkable length on the palate.
