The Loire Valley vineyard stretches along the river, from the Pays Nantais to Centre-Loire, covering nearly 57,000 hectares. The main grape varieties are Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Melon de Bourgogne, Cabernet Franc, Gamay and Pinot Noir. Annual production is around 2.4 million hectolitres and is distinguished by a wide range of styles, including white, red and rosé wines, as well as sparkling wines. The diversity of soils and climatic influences gives rise to fresh, elegant wines, such as those from Sancerre, Vouvray, Chinon and Muscadet.
