Domaine De La Forgerie

Domaine De La Forgerie

Domaine de la Forgerie is located in Juliénas, at the heart of the Beaujolais region and one of its most emblematic crus. The vineyard covers 9 hectares of old vines, with an average age of around 60 years, naturally bringing concentration, depth and consistency to the wines.

The parcels benefit from a diverse range of soils, combining granite, clay, sand and clay-sandy formations. These terroirs provide ideal conditions for Gamay, the flagship grape of Beaujolais, to express both fruit, freshness and suppleness. Harvesting is carried out by hand, allowing for careful grape selection and preserving the integrity of the fruit.

In the cellar, the estate follows traditional Beaujolais winemaking methods, including carbonic maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, in order to preserve the brightness of the fruit and the natural charm of Gamay. The wines of Domaine de la Forgerie are known for their roundness, generosity and expressive aromas of cherry, strawberry, redcurrant, blackberry and prune, sometimes with a subtle evolved note reminiscent of sherry.
