Presentation

After 18 years alongside his father, Rémi Jeanniard founded his own estate in 2004. Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, he now cultivates 5.8 hectares, spread between Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, and Gevrey-Chambertin. His philosophy is based on respect for the terroir and nature, with cultivation without herbicides and mechanically worked soils. Harvesting is manual, and vinifications seek the purest expression of Pinot Noir. The estate offers a wide range of wines, from regional appellations to Grand Crus, including the famous Clos de la Roche. Its distinctive feature? Precise vinification, without woody makeup, to express the finesse and depth of Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits.

Location

The AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protégée) Chambolle-Musigny is one of the most renowned appellations in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy.

Terroir

Located south of Nuits-Saint-Georges and north of Vougeot, the appellation benefits from an exceptional terroir, with clay-limestone soils and ideal exposures for Pinot Noir cultivation. The vineyard plots of the Domaine are aged, resulting in lower yields but fruit of great concentration.

In the vineyard

Key stages from vine to harvest include soil management, cultural practices, yield control, and hand or mechanical harvesting. These methods ensure the grapes reach optimal quality for wine production.

Harvest

The grapes are carefully hand-picked, guaranteeing a rigorous selection of the best fruits.

Winemaking

The winemaking process is traditional, using stainless steel and concrete tanks, allowing for gentle extraction and optimal maceration of aromas.

Ageing

The aging process takes place in oak barrels, with approximately 20 to 30% new barrels. This aging method imparts a balanced structure to the wine and gives it good aging potential.

Tasting

This wine displays a deep, bright ruby-red color, revealing excellent clarity and an intensity that suggests great aromatic complexity. The nose is fine and elegant, with fresh red fruit notes such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by floral touches of violet and a slight spicy note. There are also subtle aromas of undergrowth and licorice, characteristic of old-vine wines. On the palate, the wine is equally refined and well-balanced. The texture is silky, with fine and delicate tannins, perfectly integrated. Freshness is present, giving the wine a great elegance. The fruity aromas blend harmoniously with a light woody touch, and the finish is persistent, with excellent length.
