Oraison, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Rouge, 2024
Presentation
From Vienna to Avignon, the vineyard is at the heart of the Rhône Valley's heritage. Badet Clément, an expert in Languedoc-Roussillon wines, chose this region, close to Languedoc, to create the "Oraison" collection. This name, synonymous with prayer, evokes the rich religious tradition of this region, marked by the Popes in the 14th century. Our oenologist Sylvain COLSON, a specialist in the Rhône, has selected the terroirs and vintages to create elegant wines that reflect the typical characteristics of each appellation, in a supple and fruity style.
Location
The Mediterranean climate is characterized by the Mistral, a strong and very marked seasonality, hot temperatures, and exceptional sunshine.
Terroir
Located on both sides of the Rhône between Vienne, Valence, and Avignon, the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation draws its personality from an astonishing diversity of soils, climates, and grape varieties.
For this cuvée, I selected vineyards from two areas:
- vineyards on hillsides protected from the Mistral wind, cultivated at an altitude of 300m in the Drôme department on a soil of stony marls that give a refined, harmonious, and powerful wine.
- vineyards in the Provençal Gard on mainly sandy soils, where the Grenache grape expresses all its power and gives the wine its aromatic palette and softness.
Winemaking
After the harvest, I wanted the juice to undergo a fermentation period of 15 to 18 days with regular pump-overs and rackings. The Mourvèdre, aged in barrels, brings a subtle and complex touch.

Tasting
It is a very beautiful Côtes-du-Rhône with all its typicality, perfectly combining structure and softness. With a beautiful garnet red color, it has a nose of red fruits and cherry underlined by lovely notes of licorice and pepper. The palate offers a beautiful structure and fine, silky tannins.
