Packshot - Duvernay Père Et Fils Rully Blanc

Duvernay Père Et Fils, AOP Rully, White, 2024

Presentation

Founded in 1973 by Georges and Nathalie Duvernay, the estate is based in Rully, at the northern edge of the CĂ´te Chalonnaise. Since 2004, their children Dominique and Patricia have taken over, cultivating 12 hectares across Rully and Mercurey. Dominique, a passionate oenologist, leads the winemaking, while Patricia manages sales and distribution. The estate emphasizes sustainable viticulture, aiming to highlight the unique identity of each plot. The whites, made from Chardonnay, reveal beautiful tension and delicate floral aromas. The reds, dominated by Pinot Noir, are vinified with gentle extraction, resulting in silky and elegant wines. What sets the estate apart is its ability to express the pure, chiselled character of the Rully and Mercurey terroirs through precise, perfectly balanced wines.

Tasting

The Rully white from Domaine Duvernay Père et Fils embodies the freshness and precision of Burgundian Chardonnay. Its pale yellow robe with silvery highlights precedes a delicate nose of white flowers, ripe lemon, and green apple. On the palate, the attack is lively and balanced, supported by fine mineral tension and a supple texture. Flavors of pear, fresh hazelnut, and a subtle buttery touch unfold in a clean, refreshing finish, revealing the elegance of Rully’s clay-limestone terroir.

Food pairings

This Rully white pairs subtly with light and flavorful cuisine. It complements grilled fish, shellfish, or poultry with fresh herbs. Vegetarian dishes such as zucchini tart or white mushroom risotto also find a beautiful balance with its freshness. For cheese, opt for soft bloomy-rind varieties like Chaource or Brillat-Savarin.
