Presentation
The Domaine Charton, located in Burgundy, has been cultivating vines in Mercurey since 1941. Deeply attached to the notion of terroir, it produces wines with unique characteristics, reflecting the typicality of their "Climats". The love of the vine and the wine is passed down from father to son within the family. Grandson of the founder, Vincent is now at the head of the family estate, supported and advised by his father Jean-Pierre. Tasting
This Bourgogne Pinot Noir "Champs Perdrix" presents an elegant and approachable take on the grape variety. Its bright, light ruby color sets the tone. The nose offers fresh red berries (redcurrant, cherry), lifted by hints of white pepper and peony. On the palate, it is supple and juicy, with an appealing lightness. The tannins are fine and integrated, and the fresh, clean finish extends the fruit-driven character with finesse. It’s an expressive and friendly wine, showcasing authentic Pinot Noir with no embellishment.
Food pairings
"Champs Perdrix" is ideal for simple, flavorful cuisine. It pairs naturally with herb-roasted chicken, a classic quiche Lorraine, or a mild vegetarian curry. For more indulgent matches, try it with duck confit shepherd’s pie, Mediterranean antipasti, or a soft-ripened cheese. Slightly chilled, it also shines alongside a selection of fine charcuterie as an aperitif.
