Presentation

This historic cooperative in the Mâconnais brings together passionate growers united by a shared vision: to showcase the full richness and diversity of southern Burgundy’s terroirs. The cave focuses primarily on Chardonnay, cultivated on classic limestone-clay soils that impart freshness and finesse. Through a commitment to sustainable farming and careful grape selection, the cave ensures consistent quality across its range. Vinification is mostly carried out in stainless steel to preserve fruit purity, while select cuvées are aged partially in oak barrels for added complexity. The wines reflect the cooperative’s mission to offer honest, terroir-driven expressions of the Mâconnais bright and mineral Chardonnays with notes of white fruit and crisp citrus, designed to be both expressive and approachable.

Terroir

Located just next to Pouilly-Fuissé, the Pouilly-Loché appellation lies on clay-limestone soils, with a predominance of crinoidal limestone typical of the Jurassic period. The hillside parcels, mostly southeast-facing, benefit from optimal sunlight and excellent water regulation, allowing Chardonnay to reach balanced ripeness while maintaining tension and freshness.

In the vineyard

Sustainable viticulture with full respect for the environment. Partial soil tilling, controlled grass cover, yield management, and no chemical herbicides. Each plot is carefully monitored to highlight the full expression of its terroir.

Harvest

Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, either manually or mechanically depending on the parcel. A careful on-site sorting ensures the best fruit quality.

Winemaking

Direct pressing followed by cold settling. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the Chardonnay’s freshness and aromatic expression.

Ageing

Aged on fine lees for 8 to 10 months exclusively in stainless steel tanks, with no oak influence, to maintain the wine’s natural balance between roundness and minerality.
