Terroir
This Saint-Joseph "Lieu-Dit" red wine comes from a unique hillside, located at altitude on gneiss soils marked by granite veins. Poor and very draining, this demanding terroir shapes a concentrated, tense, and deeply mineral Syrah. The advanced age of the vines, from 20 to 75 years old, contributes to the richness of the material while preserving freshness and balance.
Winemaking
The winemaking of this Syrah is designed to reveal the purity of the fruit and the depth of the terroir. Fermentations, carried out at controlled temperatures up to 33°C, allow for a precise extraction of aromas and tannins.
Ageing
The aging process takes place in oak barrels, with an equal proportion of new barrels and ones that have already contained wine, in order to refine the structure without masking the grape variety's identity.

Tasting
With a deep, almost opaque red color, this Saint-Joseph seduces with its aromatic precision: ripe black fruits, sweet spices, and noble wood elegantly blend together. On the palate, the attack is clear, carried by a dense texture with fine tannins. The freshness structures the whole, bringing balance and tension. A refined, straight, expressive Syrah that combines power and elegance, with a true signature of the northern Rhône Valley. Already expressive in its youth, this Saint-Joseph "Lieu-Dit" gains complexity after a few years in the cellar. It can harmoniously evolve for 8 to 10 years.
Food pairings
With its spicy texture and beautiful freshness, this Saint-Joseph pairs well with dishes that are both indulgent and refined. It will go perfectly with caramel and ginger pork stir-fry, five-spice duck, or even roasted mushroom risotto. On the vegetarian side, a well-seasoned caponata or an eggplant curry perfectly complement its smoky and peppery notes.
