Passing through the door of Maison Christophe Pichon is jumping feet first into the history of the thousand-year-old vineyards of the northern Rhône Valley. The grandiose terraced landscapes of Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, and Saint-Joseph seem to have been imagined by stone giants as a monumental staircase sculpted to reach the sky. Nestled at the foot of these steep hillsides in the town of Chavanay, the estate tells the story of three generations who, each in their own turn, have helped to make these magical terroirs known and continue to highlight this exceptional historical agricultural heritage. Location
The Hermitage appellation located on the left bank of the Rhône, is planted on the entire production area. It produces white wines (35%) and red wines (65%) in the municipalities of Tain l'Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, and Larnage in the Drôme. Vineyards on hillsides with brown limestone clay loam soils that bring finesse, elegance, depth, and an incomparable aging potential to the wine.
