Presentation
Founded more than three centuries ago, Maison Jean Fournier is one of the historic estates of Marsannay, an emblematic appellation of the Côte de Nuits. Taken over by Laurent Fournier, the property is today a model of commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture, applied with great rigor to enhance the identity of Burgundian terroirs. The estate extends over 16 hectares, mainly in the Marsannay, Fixin, and Gevrey-Chambertin appellations. It is one of the pioneers in promoting Marsannay white wines, which express beautiful minerality here. The reds, made from Pinot Noir from massal selections, are vinified in gentle infusion, with minimal extraction to reveal all the finesse of the grape variety. The signature of the estate lies in a low-intervention approach, producing chiseled, precise wines with great aromatic purity.
Location
The Les Longeroies parcel lies in the northern part of the Marsannay appellation, on the slopes of Chenôve near the outskirts of Dijon. This historic climat is one of the most esteemed in the appellation. It is planted on a moderately sloped, east-facing hillside, offering optimal sun exposure for Pinot Noir ripening. Its mid-slope position brings natural balance between aromatic richness, freshness and finesse. Old vines rooted in this site add depth and complexity to the final wine.
Terroir
The soil here is a mix of white marl, fine clay and limestone scree. This complex geological makeup ensures balanced water regulation, natural berry concentration and structured, elegant tannins. The low fertility forces the vine to dig deep, bringing out a refined minerality, density and expressive fruit. The terroir gives a precise imprint, making this one of the most expressive and balanced sites for Pinot Noir in Marsannay.
In the vineyard
Domaine Jean Fournier farms this vineyard organically, certified since 2008. The work is carried out with great respect for living soils, no herbicides or synthetic inputs, tillage by hand or light machinery, and minimal treatments. Some biodynamic practices are also used to encourage natural balance and vine resilience. This thoughtful approach results in healthy, vibrant grapes capable of expressing the full identity of both site and vintage.
Harvest
Grapes are hand-harvested and rigorously sorted. Fruit from old vines is partially destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete or stainless-steel vats.
Winemaking
Maceration lasts around three weeks and follows a gentle infusion process to preserve the finesse and aromatic complexity of Pinot Noir.
Ageing
The wine is then aged for 18 months in oak barrels, with about 15% new oak. Bottling is done without systematic filtration to maintain purity and structure.

Tasting
Marsannay Les Longeroies Red reveals a deep ruby colour with garnet highlights. The nose is refined, showing black cherry, ripe raspberry, peony and subtle spicy, smoky undertones. On the palate, the wine is silky and focused, with fine tannins and impressive concentration. The finish is long, vibrant and supported by mineral freshness that lifts the whole. This Marsannay impresses with its depth, purity and ageing potential, offering both immediate pleasure and elegance over time.
Food pairings
This refined wine pairs beautifully with both classic and inventive cuisine. It shines alongside rosemary-roasted guinea fowl with baked figs, veal filet with morels, or a gentle red lentil and sweet potato curry. For cheese, try it with aged Époisses or creamy Morbier. On the sweet side, a prune and spice tart or a dark chocolate cake with candied orange peel make for an original and harmonious pairing. A versatile and elegant wine, perfect for the table or the cellar.
