Presentation
Domaine Machard de Gramont is a family estate located in Prissey, near Nuits-Saint-Georges. Founded in the 19th century, it is now managed by Arnaud Machard de Gramont and his two sons, Alban and Alexis. The estate is distinguished by its impressive vaulted cellars, giving a "cathedral" effect conducive to wine aging. The vineyard covers 20 hectares and stretches over more than 50 km, from Chenôve to Puligny-Montrachet, offering a patchwork of exceptional terroirs. It produces flagship Burgundy appellations such as Aloxe-Corton, Chorey-les-Beaune, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, and Savigny-les-Beaune. Vinification relies on long fermentations and aging in oak barrels, combining tradition and finesse. Its particularity: a commitment to sincere terroir wines, with meticulous biodynamic work and a respectful approach to the soils.

Tasting
Deep ruby color with garnet hues. The nose reveals ripe aromas of black cherry and stewed strawberry, enhanced by hints of licorice, fine leather, and well-integrated oak. A generous and authentic expression, typical of deep-rooted old vines.
On the palate, the wine is ample and silky, with notable density yet without heaviness. Supple but structured tannins frame the fruit nicely. The finish is persistent, echoing fruity and gently spicy notes. A serious Chorey-lès-Beaune, offering both depth and elegance.
Food pairings
This wine, both generous and approachable, pairs beautifully with roast farm chicken, veal Marengo, or a Provençal beef stew. It also elevates vegetarian dishes like root vegetable gratin or creamy polenta with mushrooms.
Recommended cheeses: Cantal entre-deux, farmhouse Reblochon, or aged Saint-Nectaire.
