Location

Domaine Pero Longo is located in Sartène, in the far south of Corsica, near the Gulf of Valinco and the iconic Roccapina natural site. Surrounded by maquis and granite hills, the vineyard benefits from a hot Mediterranean climate, tempered by maritime influence and steady winds that preserve the freshness of the grapes. The estate is certified organic and biodynamic, working in harmony with natural cycles and the surrounding ecosystem.

Terroir

The vines are rooted in sandy granite soils that are highly draining, encouraging deep root systems. This natural constraint, combined with generous sun exposure, produces grapes that are fully ripe yet balanced, with preserved acidity. The terroir imparts a subtle minerality, pure aromas, and exceptional drinkability to the rosé.

In the vineyard

The vineyard is cultivated manually and biodynamically, following the lunar calendar. Natural grass cover is maintained, yields are kept low, and Corsican grape varieties are prioritized. The grapes destined for “Harmonie” are selected for their balance of freshness, fruit, and vibrancy.

Harvest

Grapes are hand-picked early in the morning to retain aromatic freshness and avoid oxidation. Careful sorting is done directly in the vineyard. Harvesting occurs early in the season to preserve the wine’s natural acidity and crispness, essential to the desired style.

Winemaking

The grapes undergo direct pressing, with no skin contact or maceration. The juice is cold-settled and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve primary fruit aromas. Indigenous yeasts may be used depending on the vintage. No malolactic fermentation is performed, maintaining a bright, crystalline profile. Minimal sulfur use, and no fining.

Ageing

The wine is aged for 4 to 6 months on fine lees, in stainless steel, with no bâtonnage. Bottled early to retain its fruit-driven, fresh character. No aggressive filtration is used.
