Terroir

Originating from a selection of parcels in the northern part of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, this wine draws its singularity from a high-altitude terroir (300 to 450 meters) and old vines of 45 years rooted in a decomposed granitic loess soil, slightly sandy.

Harvest

The grapes are harvested by hand with a rigorous sorting in the vineyard.

Ageing

The fermentation is followed by aging for 12 months in oak barrels of 3 to 5 years, carefully selected to not overpower the wine. Further aging for 12 months in bottle further refines the structure and complexity.

Tasting

A Crozes-Hermitage that combines depth and freshness. The Syrah reveals a complex bouquet of ripe black fruits, pepper, and violet. On the palate, the wine seduces with its density, balance, and mineral tension. Already accessible after aeration, this wine has the balance and structure necessary to evolve favorably between 5 and 15 years.

Food pairings

This Crozes-Hermitage is well suited to a tasty and characterful cuisine: beef chuck simmered for a long time, grilled tuna steak with herbs, or even moussaka with candied eggplants.
