Presentation

Former winemaker at the famous Maison Verget, which he launched with Jean-Marie Guffens, Jean Rijckaert and his wife Régine founded their own Domaine in 1998 in the small village of Leynes, in the very south of the Mâconnais, in the most hilly region of winegrowing Burgundy. Domaine Rijckaert covers 9.5 ha, 4 of which are located around Mâcon in the Viré-Clessé, Mâcon-Lugny and Saint-Véran appellations, and 5.5 in the Jura in the Côtes du Jura and Arbois appellations. Jean Rijckaert, a talented winemaker and Chardonnay specialist, runs the estate with passion, practicing sustainable agriculture in tune with the terroir. The work in the vineyard and cellar is both demanding and serious. The Mâconnais whites show minerality and great purity. Ageing, which makes little use of new wood, magnifies the raw material. The Jura cuvées are among the most authentic of the cru, harmoniously combining breed and elegance.

Food pairings

A wine that goes perfectly with trout with almonds, wild salmon with spices or flammekuche. And of course, a platter of Jura cheeses!
