Presentation
At the foot of Mont Ventoux, Château Juvenal is a remarkable family estate that cultivates vines on clay-limestone soils under organic farming. Here, Syrah, Grenache, and Viognier thrive in ideal conditions, producing wines of great purity and balance. Grapes are harvested by hand, preserving integrity and concentration. In the winery, vinification is gentle and precise to reveal the terroir’s full potential. The reds are elegant and deep, with rich black fruit and spice notes. Tasting
Perséides Rouge reveals a deep ruby robe with violet highlights. The nose is intense and refined, offering aromas of raspberry, crushed blackberry, and black cherry, enriched by notes of garrigue, sweet pepper, and cocoa. On the palate, the attack is round and silky, with a beautiful concentration of red and black fruits. The texture is velvety, the tannins are fine and seamlessly integrated, and the long, harmonious finish unveils hints of licorice and gentle spices. A powerful yet elegant wine that faithfully expresses the richness of Ventoux’s clay-limestone terroir and the finesse of its lees ageing.
Food pairings
This characterful red wine pairs beautifully with generous, flavorful dishes. It’s a perfect match for venison stew, roasted duck breast with figs, or a herb-crusted rib of beef. For a more original pairing, try seared tuna with lime zest or a dark chocolate and raspberry tart — both echo the wine’s fruity and spicy profile. Served between 16 and 18°C, with a brief decanting, it reveals its full aromatic complexity and depth.
