Presentation

Domaine Machard de Gramont is a family estate located in Prissey, near Nuits-Saint-Georges. Founded in the 19th century, it is now managed by Arnaud Machard de Gramont and his two sons, Alban and Alexis. The estate is distinguished by its impressive vaulted cellars, giving a "cathedral" effect conducive to wine aging. The vineyard covers 20 hectares and stretches over more than 50 km, from Chenôve to Puligny-Montrachet, offering a patchwork of exceptional terroirs. It produces flagship Burgundy appellations such as Aloxe-Corton, Chorey-les-Beaune, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, and Savigny-les-Beaune. Vinification relies on long fermentations and aging in oak barrels, combining tradition and finesse. Its particularity: a commitment to sincere terroir wines, with meticulous biodynamic work and a respectful approach to the soils.

Tasting

Deep ruby robe with garnet highlights. The nose is intense and concentrated, featuring black fruits (black cherry, blackberry), truffle, undergrowth, and a hint of cocoa. Upon aeration, fine oak and noble spices add further complexity.
On the palate, the wine is impressively dense and precise. The tannins are firm yet polished, the body is generous, and a mineral tension drives the long, persistent finish. A structured and expressive Gevrey-Chambertin, showcasing the contained power of this renowned terroir.

Food pairings

A wine crafted for rich, flavorful dishes: grilled ribeye steak, game in sauce (venison, wild boar), or a classic beef bourguignon. It also pairs beautifully with stuffed pigeon with porcini mushrooms or roast duck with figs.
Recommended cheeses: aged Langres, Soumaintrain, or a truffle-infused Tomme.
