Presentation

Rémi Jobard took over the family estate from his father Charles in 1993. He radically altered farming practices, eliminating the use of fertilizers and weedkillers and tackling yield reduction, resulting in spectacular progress for his wines. Today, Rémi Jobard is considered one of Meursault's finest producers. The 9-hectare estate is entirely organic and has been certified since 2008. His aim is to produce wines that are pure, clean and precise, with no woody aromas.

Tasting

From a prestigious site with deep clay-limestone soils, this Meursault Premier Cru “Charmes” by Rémi Jobard expresses both generosity and precision. The nose opens with a complex bouquet of ripe pear, roasted hazelnut, white flowers, and warm stone. The carefully judged oak ageing adds subtle notes of vanilla and brioche without overshadowing the purity of the fruit. On the palate, the wine shows remarkable balance—rich and silky on the attack, then drawn out by a saline, mineral tension that leads to a long, vibrant finish. A gastronomic white wine, both charming and structured, built for graceful ageing.

Food pairings

This Meursault Premier Cru “Charmes” deserves refined cuisine that echoes its elegance and depth. It will shine alongside Bresse chicken with cream and morels, butter-roasted lobster with lemon, or a langoustine risotto with citrus zest. For a bolder pairing, try it with a chicken tagine with preserved lemons, which mirrors the wine’s mineral tension. For a vegetarian option, consider a vegetable tian with parmesan or a celeriac purée with toasted hazelnuts to highlight its silky texture. It also pairs beautifully with a 24-month aged Comté cheese at the end of a meal.
