Presentation
Domaine Machard de Gramont is a family estate located in Prissey, near Nuits-Saint-Georges. Founded in the 19th century, it is now managed by Arnaud Machard de Gramont and his two sons, Alban and Alexis. The estate is distinguished by its impressive vaulted cellars, giving a "cathedral" effect conducive to wine aging. The vineyard covers 20 hectares and stretches over more than 50 km, from Chenôve to Puligny-Montrachet, offering a patchwork of exceptional terroirs. It produces flagship Burgundy appellations such as Aloxe-Corton, Chorey-les-Beaune, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, and Savigny-les-Beaune. Vinification relies on long fermentations and aging in oak barrels, combining tradition and finesse. Its particularity: a commitment to sincere terroir wines, with meticulous biodynamic work and a respectful approach to the soils.

Tasting
This Pinot Noir from the Aloxe-Corton appellation reveals a deep garnet hue with ruby highlights. The nose offers an expressive bouquet of ripe red fruits (raspberry, redcurrant), violet, and fine spices. The palate is full and structured, with firm yet refined tannins and a lively acidity. Flavours of black cherry, licorice, and forest floor lead into a persistent finish, showcasing the depth and character of the "Les Morais" terroir.
Food pairings
A duck confit shepherd’s pie, crispy on top and melting inside, creates a remarkable match. The richness of the meat complements the wine’s tannic structure, while the confit’s sweetness echoes the fruity, subtly spicy notes of this elegant Pinot Noir.
