Domaine Alexis Gondard
Located in the heart of the Mâconnais, within the renowned terroirs of Viré-Clessé, the Domaine Alexis Gondard embodies the renewal of a demanding and inspired southern Burgundy. Since gaining independence from the Viré cooperative winery in 2008, the estate has cultivated around 11 hectares of vineyards, primarily in AOC Viré-Clessé, alongside Bourgogne Chardonnay and Mâcon-Villages, with a clear ambition to reveal the full character of these terroirs.
The estate is built on a precise and thoughtful interpretation of the region’s clay-limestone soils, which define its identity. Farmed under organic practices, with hand harvesting, it follows a respectful approach to the living environment and the natural rhythm of the vine. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentations, ageing in both tanks and oak barrels, and a carefully controlled use of wood allow the wines to develop without ever compromising their purity, energy or depth.
