Domaine Marey

François Marey, originally a stonemason by trade, founded the family estate in the aftermath of the Second World War. Initially focused on fruit production and arboriculture, a craft the family had practiced for generations, the estate gradually shifted towards viticulture in the 1980s, responding to increasing market pressures in the fruit sector.

Today, the estate covers 21 hectares across the Côte and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. The vineyard is managed according to the principles of integrated viticulture, with minimal use of inputs, a strong focus on natural balance, and the promotion of biodiversity within the plots. Harvesting is done by hand, and fermentations occur naturally using indigenous yeasts.

What sets the estate apart? A thoughtful and respectful approach to living ecosystems, born from its dual heritage of vine growing and arboriculture, preserving biodiversity as a true hallmark of the domaine.
