Presentation
Château Suduiraut, Premier Cru Classé in 1855, comes from a selection of the most prestigious terroirs of the estate. This wine, entirely tailor-made, reveals an incredible complexity and great beauty with its sun-colored robe, turning amber as it ages. Remarkably long-lasting, it harmoniously combines the powerful aromas of flowers, fruits, candied and roasted grapes.
Terroir
The terroir of Sauternes covers 2200 hectares, located 40 km from Bordeaux, between the left bank of the Garonne River and the Landes forest. The Sauternes appellation includes the municipalities of Sauternes, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac, and Barsac. The Suduiraut estate covers 200 hectares, of which 92 hectares are vineyards, on soil mainly composed of sandy-clayey gravels. The region's microclimate leads to sunny and warm afternoons in the fall following morning mists. This causes, or at least stimulates, the appearance of noble rot, or botrytis cinerea, on the grapes.
Winemaking
Alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, including 50% new wood, for 2 to 3 weeks.
Ageing
50% in new barrels 50% in barrels of a wine, for 16 to 20 months depending on the evolution.

Tasting
"The purity in this Suduiraut is exceptional and made from 100% semillon with dried pineapples, apricots, hazelnuts and spices. Medium-bodied, with plenty of sweetness yet fresh and phenolic texture that frames the wine. pH 3.65, 158 g/L residual sugar. Fantastic." - James Suckling
