Terroir

Located within the Margaux appellation, the exceptional terroir of Giscours possesses all the qualities required to produce a great wine. Three magnificent gravelly mounds deposited by the Garonne river at the beginning of the Quaternary era are the secret. The gravel they are composed of plays a crucial role, reflecting the sun's rays and maintaining a certain nighttime temperature: ideal conditions for perfect grape ripening. The topography is equally important: an altitude of about twenty meters for the mounds of Petit and Grand Poujeau, 17 meters for Cantelaude which stretches its slopes near the chateau, with an East-West orientation.
