Presentation
Composed of lots expressing themselves earlier than those of Château Suduiraut, this wine with scents of candied yellow fruits, quince, frangipane, sweet spices, and endowed with a mineral hint, is more accessible for tasting in its youth than its elder.
Terroir
The terroir of Sauternes covers 2200 hectares, located 40 km from Bordeaux, between the left bank of the Garonne River and the Landes forest. The Sauternes appellation includes the municipalities of Sauternes, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac, and Barsac. The Suduiraut estate covers 200 hectares, including 92 hectares of vineyards, on a soil mainly composed of sandy-clayey gravel. The region's microclimate leads to sunny and warm afternoons in the fall following morning mists. This causes, or at least stimulates, the development of botrytis cinerea, or noble rot, on the grapes.

Tasting
The 2014 Castelnau de Suduiraut robe is an intense golden yellow. The nose is open with candied notes of exotic fruits, woody, composing a rich ensemble. After a concentrated attack, the mouth is creamy. Yellow peach, ripe pear, honey, and candied ginger flavors are perceived. The finish is fatty on roasted peach with a beautiful length.
