Presentation
Noble and refined, Haut-Bailly's style is based primarily on a subtle balance between finesse and concentration.
Terroir
Classified Growth located at the gates of Bordeaux, Château Haut-Bailly majestically overlooks a 30-hectare vineyard established on one of the highest ridges of gravel on the left bank. It benefits from an excellent slope of the hills, effective drainage, and well-distributed ditches that ensure water flow in wet years. Of the three components of the terroir, the soil is the most subtle: here it combines a soil of mixed sands with Quaternary gravels and a subsoil of faluns, or petrification of fossil stones, which are one of its major characteristics.
Winemaking
3 weeks in temperature-controlled cement tanks and then in stainless steel tanks for blending and bottling.
Ageing
Breeding of 16 months • 50% new barrels. French oak barrels from 7 different coopers.
Varietals
Cabernet-sauvignon : 55%
Merlot : 36%
Cabernet franc : 5%
Petit verdot : 4%
Tasting
The legend of the vintages "ending in 5" continues this year and 2025 will have nothing to envy its glorious predecessors 2015, 2005 ... and 1945. The meeting of all the essential conditions for the production of a great vintage combined with precise and delicate winemaking produce smooth, balanced, deep and harmonious wines, carried by a beautiful aromatic intensity and preserved freshness, signatures of the great vintages of Haut-Bailly.
