Presentation
On the historical plots of land, a restructuring is underway around Cabernet Sauvignon, the emblematic grape variety of the Médoc. The rare heritage of old vines available - up to 70 years old - provides a choice material for mass selection. Expressing typicity also means revealing the incomparable mosaic of Margaux terroirs, a signature of the complexity of its wines and of which the Lascombes vineyard is perhaps the best representative. The tool of such a will: a viticulture of high precision.
Terroir
The fragmentation of the property offers an interesting diversity of soils with three main types of terroirs: clay-limestone and clayey gravel favorable to Merlot, clayey gravel and gravel for Cabernet Sauvignon, and gravel for Petit Verdot. A pedological study was conducted plot by plot. Both firm and smooth, it is a wine of great temperament and great aging potential, born to last for decades. The significant proportion of Merlot in its blend also makes it very enjoyable in its early years.
Winemaking
Gentle vinification by infusion. Maceration duration of 20 to 30 days determined by daily tastings.
Ageing
Malolactic fermentations in barrels. Aging of 60% in new barrels.
