Presentation
After the 2000 vintage, Juliette Bécot and her father Gérard Bécot wished to join forces to acquire a new family property. A new challenge for Gérard, and for his daughter Juliette, who is taking her first steps in this magical and exciting profession. Days and seasons follow one another but are never the same. By searching in the neighboring appellations of Saint-Emilion for a property offering great potential due to the quality of its wines and terroirs, they discovered Château Joanin in Saint-Philippe-d'Aiguille. With the desire to personalize this vineyard, they wanted to attach their family name to it. Thus, they brought this wine to life by giving it a first name and a family name: "Joanin Bécot". Their main desire, through each vintage, is to preserve all the flavors and charm of the fruit, while relying on the notion of terroirs, truly attractive and promising in the "Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux" appellation.

Tasting
"Black raspberry, cassis, graphite, sappy flowers, and some chalky minerality all emerge from the 2025 Château Joanin Bécot, a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc from Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux. It's medium-bodied on the palate, beautifully balanced, and elegantly textured, with fine, polished tannins. It's another brilliant wine from this family that readers should snatch up, and it will stand side by side with a brilliant Saint-Émilion. Buy a case and thank me later." - Jeb Dunnuck
