Terres Rouges

Coteaux de Salagou PGI wine is produced in 30 communes in the department, where the river Hérault flows close to the Larzac terraces, crossing the Séranne massif to form the famous Hérault gorges. The red earth of the rock, known as 'ruffe' from Lake Salagou, contains minerals that are found in the newly planted vineyards. The rich, sunny soil gives the grapes new attributes.
