MILLENAIRE ROUGE DEBOUT

La Vicomté, IGP Côteaux du Salagou, Millénaire, Rouge, 2022

Our cellar of Puilacher offers you this selection of hillside wines from an exceptional terroir located on the shores of the Lac du Salagou. Located at an altitude of 135 m in the heart of the Hérault state in the south of France.

Location

The red that colours the shores of the lake and the Salagou valley is made up of sandstone and clay commonly known as "ruffes". These rocks are the result of slow deposition of sediment over nearly 270 million years. The presence of iron oxide, which gives the soil its red colour, gives our wines soft, silky notes.

Harvest

15th of September

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested when ripe. They are vinified variety by variety with long vatting periods of 2 to 3 weeks. The aim is to achieve optimum extraction without dry tannins. After malolactic fermentation, the wines are kept in concrete vats for natural clarification. The wines are blended at the last moment.

Ageing

The wine is then matured for 8 months in concrete vats. Blends are made to obtain the right profile.

Reviews

90/100
"Here is a dense, well-built and fruity red. The nose shows aromas of red berries, olives, roasted meat and Mediterranean herbs. It's medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins and a spicy, dense and focused expression on the palate. Compact anf fruity finish. Try from 2025."
