Domaine du Grand Destré - IGP Principauté d'Orange Red 2023

We are implanted in Camaret-sur-Aigues, to the north east of Orange, in the zone of Rasteau. François Moricelly represents the fourth generation managing the family-owned vineyard, where cultivating vines is an integral part of the history of the estate.

In Provencal “Grand Destré” means “Large press”: this wine press is still present on the estate. In between the two wars, it was used by François Moricelly’s great grandfather to press grapes. The non fermented sparkling juice (bourru wine) was then immediately sold to restaurants in Lyon (bouchons) just before the arrival of the new wines.

Advice

Serving
Ideal serving temperature: from 16°C to 18°C.
Tasting
Beautiful garnet red colour with light purple hues. Nose opening on red berries and garrigue fruit with subtle hints of plum. Well balanced on the palate, it reveals melted tannins and concludes with a very pleasant velvety finale.
