RIESLING Vieilles Vignes Le "Z" 2019
One of the best grape varieties in the world!
Presentation
The expression of the "Zellberg" terroir is fully expressed in this wine. It gives us pure Rieslings with a fine and sharp acidity. This straightforward wine offers fresh aromas, mixed with a minerality that will evolve with time.
The vintage
2019: the vintage of all elegance, propitious to Riesling which offers us racy, structured, expressive vintages with a great precision on the finish.
Terroir
The Zellberg is a south-east facing location at the northern entrance to the municipality of Nothalten. The area of 35 hectares is made up of marly-limestone conglomerates; we cultivate several plots planted with Riesling and Pinot Gris. It is a great terroir which is in the very extension of the Grand Cru Muenchberg.
In the vineyard
Short pruning / Limited yield / Disbudding / Controlled natural grassing
Winemaking
Fermentation in 2 stages: first blocked with the arrival of winter, then the alcoholic fermentation resumed with the beautiful days of spring 2020.
A malolactic fermentation was also started in order to bring more body and fatness to the wine.

Long fermentation and ageing on fine lees.
