History
La Vicomté tells the story of men and women who, since the 1980s (1977), have aspired to unity in order to uphold the values of sustainable and responsible cooperation. Aware of the environmental issues at stake, the cooperative wineries in the union are getting organised and making significant investments to optimise their energy consumption and preserve water resources (irrigation, reuse of waste water, provision of water tanks for the SDIS 34).
Philosophy
We are committed to the values of cooperative farming and our winegrowers are involved in the development of sustainable, responsible agriculture. Today, 65% of our vineyards are certified HVE3 (Haute Valeur Environnemental) and the first organic wine ranges are being produced. Resistant grape varieties are planted to adapt to climate change: Souvignier Gris, Floréal, Artaban... The Union des Vignerons de la Vicomté is involved in an experimental research project led by INRAE in Montpellier, which encourages the integration of 'innovative' grape varieties.
Terroir
Situated in the heart of the Languedoc region, the Viscounty stretches across a hilly landscape bathed in sunshine. Our 1,200 passionate winegrowers cultivate over 7,500 hectares of vines. Our Villefranchian terraces and clay-limestone soils enriched by the sediments of the Hérault river give our wines a unique character. Produced under the HVE3 environmental charter and in Organic Agriculture, our fresh, fruity and easy-to-drink vegan wines offer the promise of a taste experience that encourages conviviality and sharing.
Vinification
All our wines are vinified by the four cooperative cellars that are members of our union: St Beauzille de la Sylve, Le Pouget, Puilacher and the Saint Pargoire cellar, which apply strict and rigorous vinification protocols.

We master the entire value chain, from vine to bottle. This means we can guarantee the traceability of all our wines and monitor your supplies.
