Authentique, Marselan Rosé, IGP Pays d'Oc
Presentation
Marselan was developed in the 1960s by the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) in the Languedoc. The Marselan grape variety is a crossing of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache.
Location
In the heart of the Languedoc.
Terroir
Marselan can perform well in soils with a limestone component. Limestone soils often have good drainage characteristics and contribute to the overall structure and complexity of the wine. Clay-limestone soils can offer a balanced water-holding capacity, providing vines with access to moisture during dry periods.
In the vineyard
Marselan grapes are medium-sized, falling between small grape varieties like Pinot Noir and larger varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon.
