Presentation
Domaine de la Metairie d'Alon is a 25-hectare estate planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, located in a mountainous area around the village of Magrie, between Limoux and Roquetaillade, in the Languedoc's Haute Vallee de l'Aude. It is composed of exceptional terroirs devoted to the production of high-end Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines, crafted from organically grown, hand picked grapes.
The "Le Village" range brings together wines from our different plots in the village of Magrie. As in Burgundy, these wines are representative of the terroir of the village as a whole.
Terroir
The Chardonnay "Le Village" is the result of a meticulous blend of the best Chardonnay plots of the estate, representative of the terroir of the village of Magrie. These Chardonnay vines are 5 to 25 years old and are grown on clay-limestone soils in the plots "Le Palajo," "Le Souleillo," "Col de Fuche," and "Les Plôs".
Winemaking
The grapes are hand-picked, sorted in the vineyard and transported to the winery in a refrigerated truck. Upon arrival at the winery, the whole bunches are pressed in a small pneumatic press, without the addition of sulphur. The first and last pressings, which are the coarsest, are discarded, retaining only the finest juice obtained at low pressure. Static settling is carried out for 24 hours. Fermentation then takes place in stainless-steel tanks, without sulphur. The wine is aged for 8 months on fine lees in stainless-steel tanks, demi-muids and 2- to 5-year-old Burgundy oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is carried out on approximately 20% of the wine, and bottling takes place relatively early, in May 2026, to preserve freshness and vibrancy.

Tasting
The Chardonnay “Le Village” 2025 displays a beautiful pale yellow colour. The nose is remarkably fresh and expressive, opening with notes of lemon and white flowers, accompanied by delicate hints of yellow blossom. Subtle, beautifully integrated oak adds complexity without masking the vibrancy of the fruit. On the palate, the wine is generous and well-balanced, underpinned by lovely freshness and a precise mineral backbone. Citrus notes linger through to a fresh, persistent finish. A precise and vibrant Chardonnay, combining freshness, finesse and elegance.
Food pairings
Serve at 10°C with a citrus scallop carpaccio, roasted sea bass fillet or poultry with fresh herbs. Its freshness and minerality will also pair beautifully with a green asparagus and Parmesan risotto.
