CHATEAU DES SOURCES
Situated to the east of the Costières of Nimes region, in the village of Bellegarde in the Gard, the vineyard of Château des Sources is situated in an area of lakes.
In the Antiquity, after the cancellation of a decree of ban on vineyards in Gaul, in 280 Cassius Severanius, Governor of Narbonne, ordered the transplantation of the Vineyards of " pagus nemensis " (Costières).
In the Middle Ages, the wines of Costières were among the most appreciated by the Papal court of Avignon. When, in 1367, Urbain V left Avignon for Rome he sent a cargo of Costières wines by the port of Arles.
