Presentation
The legendary Côte de Nuits, with its succession of prestigious appellations that have enchanted the entire world, has the (justified!) reputation of producing unaffordable wines. Côte de Nuits-Villages is the exception to the rule. It may only be produced in 5 villages that border the heart of the Côte de Nuits: Fixin and Brochon to the north, Premeaux, Comblanchien and Corgoloin to the south. Côte de Nuits-Villages represents a fine introduction to the Côte’s great wines with all that it has in common to offer: elegance, distinction, and intense, fleshy fruit.
Terroir
The grapes for our Côte de Nuits-Villages cuvée are sourced from the lieux-dit “Vignotte” in the village of Comblanchien, which is well-known for its marble quarries. Its calcareous clay soils lend suppleness and body to the wines.
Winemaking
The grapes are handpicked, sorted and destemmed before being vinified. Daily pump-overs and a couple punch-downs were carried-out. Cuvaison lasted approximately 15 days. The wine was transferred into barrels (15% finely-grained new oak from Central France forests) for a 14 months ageing period.

Tasting
Beautiful deep red color with a subtle hint of orange already emerging. The nose is superbly fruity and enticing, reminiscent of the indulgence of red and black berries (raspberry jam, blackcurrant, cherry), accented with a touch of vanilla. The palate is broad and rich, featuring smooth, remarkably well-integrated tannins. The powerful, aromatic fruit is complemented by a warm, spicy note of blond tobacco. A true ambassador of the Côte de Nuits, this pleasurable, smooth, and expressive wine pairs wonderfully with hearty, character-driven cuisine.
Food pairings
Superb with roasted chicken or American-style fried chicken. A perfect accompaniment to a sesame-crusted tuna.
