Château Lascombes, AOC Margaux Deuxième Grand Cru Classé, Rouge, 2022

The year 2022 has not escaped the recent rule of vintages that reserve many surprises for us! The vintage began with a relatively dry winter that did not allow for replenishing water reserves. On April 4, spring frost once again appeared on early vegetation. Fortunately, nature was generous and the loss was partially compensated for by the fertility of the secondary buds. The flowering then took place in good weather conditions. At the same time, the drought continued throughout the spring and part of the summer, leading to a very slow veraison, leaving us fearing maturity blockages or aromas of cooked fruit due to the succession of heatwaves. But none of that, quite the opposite! Once veraison was completed, the ripening phase progressed quickly

Many fruits, very creamy, rich and fresh at the same time with silky tannins! This vintage is unique and there will be few of them because the drought has significantly reduced yields. But surely, Château Lascombes 2022 is a great wine that you will need to have in your cellar!
