Presentation

Presentation
With carefully selected site-specific vineyards, Alice's vineyard is home to some of the region’s top red wines. Utilizing organic farming practices, the grapes are hand-picked for harvest and sorted with traditional winemaking techniques to merely support the full potential and development of the wines resulting in elegant, complex and expressive wines that speak eloquently of their birthplace, the beautiful south.
Terroir
This vineyard of Syrah and Grenache is located in the Pézenas viticultural area. The sandstone or silt from these Triassic soils is a natural wonder for growing vines with stony ground promoting drainage and preventing rainwater from standing. But the soil’s greatest strength is that it acts as an amazing source of coolness, protecting the vines against drought. Slightly acid, it produces flamboyant wines with extremely refined tannins.
Winemaking
Winemaking is simple and low-tech with no added yeast. Temperature control provides gentle extraction. Maturation in Burgundy barrels for 12 months followed by 2-months' aging in concrete tanks prior to bottling with very little filtration.

Advice

Ageing potential
Enjoy all year long, 5 to 10 years
Tasting
This is a delicate yet complex wine of true character and depth with a beautiful bouquet of rich dark fruit, tea leaves, leather and menthol. The mouth, smooth and lush, is loaded with intense plum, cherry, spice and pepper. The balance is fantastic, making this an easy wine to enjoy now or an excellent candidate to hold for many years.
Food pairings
Syrah & Grenache is a quintessential red blend calling for red fleshed foods – from beef and lamb to tuna, goose and game, or else fattier cuts of pork. It is amazing with barbecue as a lot of people pick up cedar and wood smoke aromas in the wine that flatter any steak you toss on the barbecue.
