Genesis
1938, at the dawn of the Second World War and in a context of economic crisis, the history of the Vignerons de Puisseguin Lussac Saint-Emilion began. Five winegrowers from Puisseguin and Lussac come together, to pool their know-how to create a common winemaking cellar.
The winery, located in Puisseguin, received its first grapes on September 25, 1938. In 1939, it already had 142 member winegrowers. The winery then became an extension of their operation.
Since then, the cellar has continued to grow and now has around 150 member winegrowers, spread across 6 AOCs in Saint-Emilion, including the Satellites de Saint-Emilion (Lussac Saint-Emilion, Puisseguin Saint-Emilion and Montagne Saint-Emilion), but also Côtes de Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur and Bordeaux.

World War II
Women have always played a major role in our cooperative cellar, particularly during the Second World War. They managed the vineyard as the husbands and male staff were mobilized for the war. Then women took over and united around this common project, helping each other to continue producing wine. They have greatly contributed to the management of the winery since then.
In 2023, a group of eleven women winegrowers came together to select, all together, a cuvée that brings them together in order to share it with consumers. This way, they perpetuate the tradition and pay tribute to their elders. The Drôles de Dames cuvée is a cuvée of character, both literally and figuratively.

A world in constant evolution
The cooperative cellar has been modernized over the years. A bottling line was installed in the 1950s. A new winemaking vat room was built, at the same time, allowed increased our wine production, then a wine storehouse was built allowing the wine to be aged in optimal conditions allowed for improved quality. The pooling of resources has allowed for major technical developments and improvements, the technical installations are regularly modernized.
A territorial, social and environmental anchoring
Nowadays, Vignerons de Puisseguin Lussac Saint-Emilion produce wine from six of the most prestigious Bordeaux appellations (Puisseguin Saint-Emilion, Lussac Saint-Emilion, Montagne Saint-Emilion, Côtes de Bordeaux, Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur). Around 150 members cultivate 900 hectares of vines. They are 310 families, living in 30 different communes, depend on the activity of the Vignerons de Puisseguin Lussac Saint-Emilion.
A commitment to the environment
Our cooperative cellar once again demonstrated innovation in the 2000s by setting up an evaluation grid for member winegrowers; this evaluation goes far beyond the constraints imposed by the specifications of the appellations. The working methods of member winegrowers are more precise and modern than ever; they are also part of a process of social and environmental responsibility (Agri Confiance, Vegan, HVE, AB).
