Presentation
A village steeped in history, at the heart of an exceptional terroir. Nestled between two valleys on the heights of the Côte de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses has been cultivating vines since the Middle Ages. Backed by the Montagne de Corton, it shares an outstanding terroir with Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny, the birthplace of the prestigious Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. Its steep streets and rolling landscape create an authentic setting, where wines of freshness, depth, and precision are born.
Terroir
This “climat” is located at the entrance to the valley between the hills of Pernand and Corton. At the bottom of the slope, with south-southeastern exposure, the plot is surrounded by some of the appellation’s finest Premier Crus: "Vergelesses" and "Les Fichots” to the west and the north in Pernand, and "Les Vercots" and "Les Guérets" to the east in Aloxe. Due to the fact that the vineyard is but a few dozen metres away from the first plots of Corton Grand Cru "Chaumes", there are many similarities in the subsoil, which is made up of rather deep, red clay-based soil.
Winemaking
The grapes are hand-harvested at perfect ripeness and fully destemmed. After a short cold pre-fermentation maceration, fermentation lasts fifteen days. The wine is then aged for 15 months in fine-grained French oak barrels from Central France, with 10% new oak.

Tasting
Lovely light ruby color with a subtle bluish hue. The nose expresses itself through fruity and vegetal aromas (freshly cut grass, bramble leaf), accompanied by a beautiful freshness. Indulgent nuances of slight sweetness evoke sugared almond and caramelized hazelnut. On the palate, the attack is elegant, revealing fine, well-integrated tannins. The wine displays a wonderful balance, with subtle notes of cherry pit. This delightful wine finishes with a lively, fruity finale, bringing freshness and energy.
Food pairings
Superb on a cheese platter, with a Mont d'Or or Camembert. A perfect match for a lightly spiced vegetable wok or grilled marinated lamb kebab.
